The Caribbean Testing Board is part of the ISTQB

The International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) is represented globally by Member Boards from each country or region. 

These Boards are created to represent the ISTQB and the region in a mutually beneficial way. 

The Caribbean Testing Board has been set up as a Regional Board.

  • Legal Constitution

    The ISTQB is currently represented in the region by Barbados. A legal entity - The Caribbean Testing Board, has been registered there. It is subject to local and international laws as well as ISTQB rules and procedures.

  • Reach of the CTB

    We invite testers, organisations and prospective ATOs from the following countries to join us: 

    Anguilla; Antigua + Barbuda; Belize; Bermuda; British Virgin Islands; Cayman Islands; Dominica; Grenada; Guyana; Haiti; Jamaica; Montserrat; Saint Kitts and Nevis; St Lucia; St Vincent and the Grenadines; The Bahamas; Trinidad and Tobago and The Turks and Caicos Islands.

  • Aims of the CTB

    The aims of the CTB include:
    - To promote software testing as a recognised profession and a positive career choice.
    - To promote the benefits of certification and education in software testing to individuals, employers and academia.
    - To promote ISTQB® as the standard for software testing certification in the region.
    - To encourage individuals from the region to become actively involved with the ISTQB® and contribute to the development of the scheme.
    - To support the ISTQB® mission and vision and to work with the ISTQB® in furthering its reach and developing professional testers in the region.
    - To promote specific ISTQB® initiatives including the Partner Programme.

  • ISTQB Exam Administration

    Exam Administration will be managed by the CTB. The CTB will:

    - Provide exams as required by its Accredited Training Organisations (ATOs)
    - Provide invigilators for paper-based exams
    - Mark candidate exam sheet and issue certificates
    - Maintain required ISTQB quality control processes for its exams.

  • ISTQB Training Provider Accreditation

    The CTB will accredit training organisations (ATOs) according to the ISTQB rules and processes.  For more about becoming an ATO with the ISTQB, please click here.
